Skellig Landing Tour (9am – 11am Daily)
The Skellig Michael Landing Tour offers you the chance to land and climb the 618 steps to the very top of Skellig Michael.
This experience allows you to explore this incredible Island on the Edge of the World. As you climb the stone staircase you may encounter the wonderful birdlife that exists out here. Once you reach the top of the island you can explore the beehive huts and monastery that is situated here.
Your journey will begin at The Skellig Experience Visitor Centre where you can learn all about these incredible islands through reconstructions, exhibits and our Film Show. You will also be shown a brief safety guide in preparation for your Skellig Michael excursion. Food and beverages can be purchased in our restaurant prior to tour departure.
The boat trip to Skellig Michael takes approximately 1 hour in duration and you will then have approximately 2.5 hours to walk and explore Skellig Michael. Our Skellig Michael landing tours depart daily during the summer months from The Skellig Experience Visitor Centre, Valentia Island. Boats depart between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM and don’t return until 2PM/3PM that afternoon. If you book a landing tour with us it includes an entry ticket to our Visitor Centre.
You will return to the Visitor Centre in the afternoon where you can explore our exhibition further, enjoy a relaxing meal in our restaurant which overlooks the beautiful Portmagee Harbour or browse our wide range of gifts and souvenirs available in our Craft Shop.

Skellig Michael Sea Cruise (We are the 3pm Option)
Our Skellig Michael Sea Cruise is the perfect way to enjoy the spectacular views of the famous Skellig Islands while remaining seated. Explore the incredible story of Skellig Michael and witness up close views of these incredible islands without landing.
First you will circle Sceilig Beag (Little Skellig) home to over 23,000 pairs of Gannets making it the largest colony in Europe. Witness the incredible birdlife that is present on this rock, listen to the seabirds as they soar above. You will then continue on to circle Skellig Michael. The sheer beauty of this island is out of this world! Enriched in history, boasting beautiful scenery and wildlife made this island the perfect location for the cast and crew of Star Wars to fil The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi here.

This tour provides the perfect opportunity to witness up close views of the lighthouses, birdlife, wildlife and the steps these outstanding monks carved into the rock in the 6th century.
The sea cruise departs daily from April to October and is weather dependent. The cruise is approximately 2.5 hours long and departs at 3pm daily.
Once you arrive back at The Skellig Experience Visitor Centre you can relax in our fully licensed restaurant which overlooks the Portmagee Harbour or browse our wide range of gifts and souvenirs available in our Craft Shop.
